Job Description: MuniCode Services is seeking an experienced and motivated Class 3 Building Official to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for promoting compliance with building and fire codes, conducting inspections, and providing expert consultation services. Your expertise will help municipalities and stakeholders maintain safe, code-compliant buildings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of buildings to ensure compliance with applicable building and fire codes.
  • Review and approve plans and specifications for construction projects.
  • Issue permits and certificates of occupancy.
  • Provide expert consultation services on building and fire code matters to various stakeholders across Canada.
  • Investigate complaints and perform follow-up inspections to ensure code compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare detailed reports on inspections and code enforcement activities.
  • Collaborate with other team members to address complex code enforcement issues.
  • Stay updated on changes to building and fire codes and implement necessary updates to enforcement practices.

Qualifications:

  • Saskatchewan class 3 building officials licence or equivalent from another province or a degree in architecture or engineering.
  • Extensive knowledge of building and fire codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Proven experience in building inspection, plan review, and code enforcement.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using inspection and code enforcement software.

Salary:

$80,000 – $110,000/year depending on qualifications and experience.
