Plan Reviews

Ensuring compliance begins before construction, it begins with an examination of all preliminary plans, construction drawings, specifications and details pertaining to a project. MuniCode's plan review service provides the client with a detailed plan examination report outlining all items needing to be addressed during construction to ensure compliance with The Uniform Building and Accessibility Standards Act and regulations. Attached to the plan examination report is a cost of services which outlines all costs associated with the plan review and required inspections. You will be given a total cost up front, there are no hidden costs. Included in the plan review service is all dealings with designers, contractors and owners with respect to the project.

Building Inspections

MuniCode's inspection service includes all necessary on site inspections to determine if the construction complies with the approved plans and The Uniform Building and Accessibility Standards Act and regulations. After each inspection a written report is issued to the municipality that provides details of what was observed and requirements needing to be fixed or completed. Once a project is completed and there are still outstanding deficiencies MuniCode will provide the necessary service to ensure deficiencies are corrected or completed. All follow-up inspections and follow-up letters are done at no additional charge.

Liquor License Approvals

MuniCode has been involved in hundreds of liquor license approvals throughout Saskatchewan. Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming requires that the facility be reviewed or inspected by a Class III Building Official. At MuniCode we have a qualified Class III Building Official that has a proven track record to handle all liquor license approvals. This service includes either a plan review or an inspection of the establishment and a written report that identifies the fire safety components that will need to be upgraded so that the building can be used as a Liquor Licensed facility. MuniCode ensures all written reports are forwarded to Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming directly from our office at no additional charge.

Fire Safety Inspections

MuniCode has provided fire safety inspections to various municipalities, government agencies and private businesses to ensure existing buildings comply with current fire codes and regulations. MuniCode also provides fire inspections for Approved Home licensing. This service includes an inspection which will determine fire safety deficiencies that apply to current fire codes and regulations governing these facilities. MuniCode will work in conjunction with local fire departments on behalf of the client and provide a written report which identifies any infractions which need to be addressed. All written reports and necessary documentation will be forwarded to the appropriate agencies on behalf of the client at no additional charge.

Code Consulting

MuniCode offers a service to provide building and fire code consulting services to designers, owners, health districts, provincial governments, school boards and engineers. This service involves assessing new and existing buildings for compliance with provincial regulations and provides recommendations to achieve compliance. The consulting fee includes all written reports, meetings and telephone conversations. MuniCode assists design teams, contractors and building owners in providing cost effective solutions for fire safety upgrading and accessibility. Consulting services have been provided to SPMC, SGI, SERM, Insurance Agencies, Health Districts, School Boards and Professional Engineers and Designers.
